Cause Vision Created a handbook “Wash your Hands” to educate Cambodian Children about importance of Handwashing. Booklet is designed in a way that people can understand without any reading skills.
The second area on which Cause Vision will focus is education/awareness on public health issues.
Sanitation and Hygiene Education
An example is Sanitation and Hygiene Education: It is estimated that 884 million people in the world have no access to safe drinking water, and more than 2.6 billion people lack access to basic sanitation. As a result, about 1.5 million children under the age of five die each year from water and sanitation-related diseases. To illustrate how this affects countries on a national scale, India is a powerful case study. Everyday, 1,000 Indian children under the age of five die from diarrhea, hepatitis-causing pathogens and other sanitation-related diseases, according to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Seventy-five percent of India’s surface water is contaminated by human and agricultural waste and industrial effluent. Everyone in Indian cities is at risk of consuming solid human waste, if they’re not already, as the Indian Ministry of Urban Development concluded in September. In 2011, Cause Vision was invited to work on production of educational material for ”clean water and sanitation” in Agra, India.
